Calne Rugby Football Club Juniors Section
Thanks to the dedicated efforts of our dedicated Junior Section volunteers we are able to offer a non-contact Tag-Rugby section, a Midi section (12-a-side contact game played on a reduced size pitch) and a Youth section (15-a-side contact game played on a full size pitch).

Through sponsorship and the hard work of our volunteers, Calne Rugby’s juniors is completely free, yes that’s right completely FREE.

With no fees for matches and training being completely free, all you will need is boots and a gum shield to train and play for Calne.

All sections (Tag, Midi and Youths) train on a Sunday morning between 10am and 11.30am at Calne Recreation club on Anchor road in Calne.

Sessions are completely free and are run by our qualified and CRB checked coaches who design the sessions to be fun while still teaching all aspects of rugby

With refreshments available for the parents, Calne Rugby is a fun and friendly place to be on a Sunday for all the family.

On most Sundays our juniors play a large number of games against local teams both at the Recreation club and away at the other team’s grounds. They also attend a number of festivals throughout the year. Unlike some clubs in the area, Calne Rugby promises that all players will get to take part in a game.

More information about our Junior section will be coming soon.

Parents

We need your help…..

The success of any junior section is just as dependent on your interest and involvement as that from your offspring!

Would you like to help manage one of the age groups or would you like to help us develop and plan for the future through Tag, Mini, Midi or Girls rugby? We require a range of help, from taking monies to booking fixtures. Not to mention coaching, team management, festival organization, first aid and school liaisons.

One of the most exciting new projects the club is undertaking is to train a number of individuals so that they may visit local primary schools to start and run, after school, tag rugby classes. Our long-term objective is to create an annual tag rugby festival in Calne!

All training courses will be paid for, by funds raised by both the junior and senior sections of the club. All training courses are nationally recognised, as most are run by the RFU or NWDC.
